Ms Murphy and Ms McAleers class went on the bus to the teddy bear hospital in UCC. The medical students showed the students all the equipment including an x-ray machine, a stethoscope, bandaging and injections. The teddys were feeling much better after their doctors visit!

Wellbeing week

The whole school enjoyed painting a handprint rainbow in the school hall as the closing activity to wellbeing week.

Science Week

For Science week, Ms Murphy's class learned about object that sink and float. The student made a boat of different shapes and sizes using plasticine. They discussed which design would make the best boat.

Bird feeder

Ms Murphy and Ms Mc Aleer's Class mad bird feeders to help the birds survive during the cold weather when it is difficult to find food.

SESE trail

Ms Murphy and Ms Mc Aleer's class went on a SESE trail around Ballephehane. we found three bus stops, counted a lot of red cars and found many different shaped road signs. The students used their checklist to record their findings.

September: At the Doctors Surgury

This month Ms Murphy's class were learning about going to the doctors surgury as part of Aistear. All of the boys enjoyed dressing up as doctors, taking eachothers temperature and nursing their sick toys back to good health.

Christmas Carols

Merry Christmas Everyone! Rainbow class really enjoyed singing Christmas carols with help from the big boys. We got lots of sweets to eat afterwards. It was so much fun!

Our New OT Hall

We do lots of exercises in the new OT hall. We practise climbing the steps, using a hula hoop, jumping on the trampoline, balancing on the beams and using the scooter board. Going to the OT hall is our favourite activity.

Autumn

This week, we are learning about autumn. We went on a nature walk and saw conkers, acorns and coloured leaves. We loved stomping in the leaves and hearing them crunch. We also learnt all about hedgehogs and made our own hedgehogs out of clay.

Toy Time

We love to play with the toys in Rainbow class. We build huge towers and enjoy knocking them over. We also love playing with the cars and trains. Our favourite characters to play with are Thomas the Tank Engine, Peppa Pig, Sonic the Hedgehog, Nala and Mario. ​

Dancing
We love to Dance together in Rainbow class. Our favourite songs are 'Teddy Bear Teddy Bear' and 'Looby Loo'!

Playing with Shaving Foam

In Rainbow class, we love playing with shaving foam. It smells nice and feels so soft. We like to put it on our faces and draw letters in it.
