The boys had the most amazing and WILD time in Go Safari today. The boys were divided into three groups - the tigers, the giraffes and the zebras. They had a ball on the climbing wall and the zip line! They had no fear!!!! We are sure they will sleep very well tonight after all the running around and the fun they had on the big slide.... Have a look at the photos below - they sure had loads of fun!

Outdoor Classroom Day - May 18th
Today was Outdoor Classroom Day. We managed to avoid the rain showers and we went out to do a minibeast hunt. We have been learning about lots of different types of minibeasts so it was time to see if we could see them in their own habitat. Our main rule was no touching! We had to leave the minibeasts where we found them. Have a look at our pictures below - we saw slugs, worms, millipedes, woodlice, flies, beetles, a snail, spiders and lots of ants. What fun we had!

Green Flag Water Slogan Fun
The boys in Senior Infants had lots of fun thinking up 2 new slogans for our Green Flag initiative. All the boys in the school have put their thinking caps on to try and develop a water slogan. One will be chosen for everyone in our school to learn. Maybe it could be one of ours????
Our 2 slogans are:
1. Everyone in Morning Star school, knows that saving water is really cool!
2. PLIP, PLOP, PLIP, PLOP. If the water keeps dripping.....make it STOP!
Have a look at the beautiful posters our boys designed. Well done to them all - they really did some great work on this project.

Aaron told us how he helps his mum look after the new baby. Robert was very good - he didn't cry and he stayed really really quiet! All the boys came up to him and waved at him in his buggy. It was so lovely to see him in school today - he was like our very own celebrity ;-)

Our senior infant boys "qualified" as Playball Professionals today. They have worked really hard over the last 2 years with Carol - the amazing Playball coach. Pancake Tuesday Party-time!
We had a fabulous day in school today - Pancake Tuesday. The boys learned all about the tradition behind why people eat pancakes on the last day before Lent. They then did a lovely sequencing activity where they had to put the pictures in the right order - pictures on how you make pancakes. After all their hard work, the boys were starving! So......we had a "Pancake Party" with the boys in Junior Infants. Some of the boys had lemon juice on their pancakes and some of them had lemon juice with yummy sugar on their pancakes. Everyone had a lovely time!
Have a look at our lovely photos below.

Grandparents' Day - 1st February
Today we celebrated Grandparents' Day. Our grandparents are very special people. They care for us and love us and sometimes they spoil us loads! We love them very much. We remember them especially today and we thank them for everything they do for us.
As part of Grandparents' Day, some of the grandparents came in to our class to tell us all about what life was like when they went to school. Did you know that they didn't have interactive whiteboards, mobile phones, iPads or Playstations!!!! And there was no such thing as McDonalds!!! We learned that some of them brought in wood, turf and coal to keep the classroom warm during the winter. We learned lots of interesting facts and we all decided that we are VERY happy being in school now, instead of back in the olden times.
We would like to say a BIG thank you to all the grandparents who came to visit us today in school.

1st February - St Brigid's Day
We all had such a lovely day of celebration in school today. We celebrated the feast of St Brigid. We learned about how God performed a miracle when he made St Brigid's cloak grow and grow so that she had enough land to build her church.
We made St Brigid's crosses too - they turned out lovely!
